UCSF General Internal Medicine at Post Street offers comprehensive primary care services to patients. With a focus on preventive medicine, health monitoring, and specialized treatment programs such as weight management and diabetes care, our healthcare professionals provide personalized care. They coordinate treatment plans and make referrals to specialists when necessary. Our patient-centered care teams comprise residents, fellows, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and other clinical providers. Depending on individual needs, patients may consult with doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, psychologists, or dietitians. As an academic medical center, we actively engage in a residency program, where residents, alongside attending physicians, collaborate to deliver healthcare services. Patients may be seen by either a resident or an attending physician during their appointments.
