DCH Regional Medical Center, initially named Druid City Hospital and commonly referred to as DCH, stands as a public, not-for-profit hospital and medical complex in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, catering to the healthcare needs of the West Alabama region. It forms a pivotal part of the DCH Health System, a community-owned healthcare network governed by a government subdivision. This network includes other significant facilities such as Northport Medical Center and Fayette Medical Center, all of which are public assets managed on the community’s behalf. The DCH Health System Board of Directors oversees the operational management of these institutions, ensuring the provision of healthcare services. The structure and operation of the DCH Health System are akin to those of other local authorities, such as the Park and Recreation Authority (PARA), highlighting a dedication to serving the public interest. While officially recognized as the DCH Healthcare Authority for formal affairs like bond issues, the organization is more widely known and operates as the DCH Health System.
