In February 2013, the University of Louisville Hospital attained the distinction of being the first Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in Kentucky and the 20th in the nation. This recognition underscores the hospital’s capacity to deliver the most advanced stroke treatments available.

Additionally, UofL Hospital houses the UofL Health – Brown Cancer Center, renowned for its multidisciplinary approach to treating various cancers. Specialized teams focus on cancers affecting the central nervous system, breast, gastrointestinal and reproductive systems, head and neck, lungs, skin, as well as blood and marrow transplantation.
