Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center specializes in providing acute psychiatric hospitalization and longer-term intensive residential treatment for children and teens aged 4 to 18. The center is known for its specialized treatment services catered to youth suffering from severe psychiatric disorders. It also addresses the needs of those facing additional challenges, such as mild or moderate intellectual disabilities, cognitive delays, victimization from abuse and/or neglect, or high-risk behaviors including suicidal/self-harming tendencies, assaultive actions, and tendencies to run away.
Situated on approximately ten acres in the southeast corner of the state, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia, Laurel Oaks boasts a campus with multiple residential units organized by age groups. The facility includes a registered private school, a cosmetologist salon, a full-service cafeteria, and various recreational areas. These include an in-ground swimming pool, a gym, and courts for tennis and basketball, providing a comprehensive environment aimed at supporting the recovery and development of its young patients.
