HIGHLANDS ARH REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center, located in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, is a nonprofit healthcare facility boasting 184 beds and operated by Appalachian Regional Healthcare. Serving the populous counties of Floyd, Johnson, Martin, and Magoffin, totaling over 90,000 residents, it offers a comprehensive range of medical services including family practice, cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, internal medicine, orthopedics, urology, and otolaryngology. In addition to its hospital services, Highlands Regional Medical Center is home to Highlands Clinic, a specialized care facility offering expertise in 25 areas of medicine. These clinics are staffed by physicians from the University of Kentucky and various medical specialists across the state, who visit the clinic on a weekly or biweekly basis to provide consultation or follow-up care in fields such as neurosurgery, oncology, cardio-thoracic, and high-risk prenatal care, among others. By offering these specialty clinics, Highlands Regional Medical Center aims to alleviate the need for patients to travel long distances, up to 120 miles (190 km) to Lexington, for specialized care. These clinics are conveniently located both on-site at the HRMC main campus and in Paintsville.
