FLORIDA LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, EST Monday to Friday.
The Florida Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is composed of volunteers appointed by the governor who advocate for the rights and well-being of residents in long-term care facilities. The program receives, investigates, and works to resolve complaints against nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and adult family care homes. By addressing concerns related to care, safety, and residents’ rights, the program ensures that seniors and other vulnerable individuals receive the quality care they deserve.
In addition to handling complaints, the Florida Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program conducts quarterly visits to all long-term care facilities across the state. These visits help monitor conditions, identify potential issues, and provide residents with an opportunity to voice their concerns. Through its efforts, the program plays a vital role in safeguarding the dignity and well-being of Florida’s long-term care residents.
